After a long day of travel through which we all arrived in Munich with no mishaps we headed into the city on the Metro to grab some lunch. Many of us were able to enjoy amazing Bavarian pretzels which was definitely the best pretzel I’ve ever had. We also enjoyed a refreshing glass of apfelschorle which was sort of like sparking apple juice, and tasted amazing. After lunch we were able to see some of the amazing architecture of Munich like the gothic Frauenkirche and the Neues Rathaus. We were able to walk around in great weather and ended our day back at the Marienplatz square in the heart of the city and watched the animatronic jousters and dancers move around each other at the very top. Throughly exhausted and hungry we enjoyed a wonderful German dinner and took the Metro again back to our hotel.

Today was such a long, but amazing, day. We arrived a little later than planned but once we landed we immediately met our tour guide, Phoebe, outside the airport. She’s super sweet and engaged in the tour. We dropped our stuff off at the hotel and then did a walking tour of Munich, taking the metro to get there and back. We saw the Marienplatz and the Peter Kirche as well as the Radhause, city hall, and watched the Glockenspiel there. Then we headed off for a dinner of sausage and potato salad. We were all incredibly tired on the way back and happy to get some rest for the next day.
